STICKY Productions welcomes you to the slugverse.
Audiences are invited to lounge inside a tactile landscape, as performers move in, amongst and behind you.
OOZE is an immersive dance performance that shares the intimate and spectacular mating ritual of slugs. An evening authored by 4 Queer women where slugs become a slippery metaphor for Queerness.
4 dancers and 1 musician tune into sensation, form intricate mechanisms and erupt in moments of explosive desire. As they glide and swell and slip, movement becomes reminiscent of our own sticky human encounters.
Historically homosexuality and sexual variance in animals has been labelled ‘a crime against nature’ and omitted from scientific study due to pervasive attitudes towards homosexuality in humans. Since the early 1700’s, same sex behaviour has been documented across all major groups of animals including birds, reptiles, mammals and molluscs. OOZE affirms that this diversity has always and will always be integral to nature's great tapestry.
